Photos of a trip on the wall

This is, where they belong, on the wall, where everybody can see them. Of course not everyone of them. In 2012, I took about 2000 photos in New York. The keepers were 1400. The preselection for the exhibition 119, and now, there are 18 on my wall, 16 in black and white, ten of them in beautiful black oak frames with passepartout. It took me two weeks of working on them, print them and frame them. And yesterday the opening of the exhibition with great american food by Alexander Schattenberg and wonderfull music by Twosome Entwined, Blues Bossa and Jazz – I love them. And finally, I could share my photos, see the excited faces. How didn’t I know, what it would meant to me?
Yes, these photo were shot to hang on a wall – I knew that right from the start. But to know something and actually do it are sometimes as seperated, as the earth is from the moon.
I wanted the titel card to show the location of every photo, so I took the GPS Data and Google Street View and did some “homework”. It was a shok to see, that the kiosk I photographed on the Wall Street, is now replaced with one made of Steel an glas. The things are changing, also at places, you don’t see … I will experience that in about ten days.
Now, here are some photos of the Vernissage. Yummi Catering by Alexander Schattenberg and you see Twosome Entwined performing.
